Materials Needed Everyday:
1. Textbook: Provided by the school
district. (You must use the a book cover. Take good care of these
books.)
2. Wireless Notebook or Loose Leaf Paper: For all problems,
lab reports, etc. (All assignments to be turned in must be done
on paper which does not have fringes.
3. Pencils: Use pencil on all tests, assignments, and when
writing on glassware.
4. Three Ring Binder: Many notes will be provided for you
and they will be three hole punched to help you remain organized.
Assignments:
1. Assignments must be in pencil and have name, hour,
assignment and date due at the upper right corner of the paper.
2. Lab reports must be typed.
3. Tests will be taken in 47 minutes or less and must
be taken in one sitting.
Laboratory:
1. You will work in pairs with your assigned lab partner and
at the assigned lab area.
2. Keys are your responsibility. (If you do not have your
keys you must donate $.25 to the fun fund to get your drawer unlocked.)
3. If your partner is absent - You will do the lab. (You
may pair up with someone whos partner is also absent,however
you will not have a group larger than two.)
4. The glassware in your Chemistry drawer is your responsibility,
broken or lost glassware will be paid for by you.
5. Keys are your responsibility. The cost of replacing a key is
$5.00.
Absent From Class:
1. If you are absent from class one day, you have:
1 school day to make-up assignments.
1 school day to make-up a quiz
3 school days to make-up a test.
5 school days to make-up a lab.
2. You must obtain the notes from someone in class.
(If you do not do this, it will affect you notebook grade.)
3. Your assignments will be filled out on the admit slip
by your lab partner and the instructor will sign it only after
the assignments have been written on the slip. Slips which need
the instructors signature are to be placed in the designated basket.
4. It is your responsibility to arrange to make-up any
test, lab, etc. You must pick up worksheets, etc. from the designated
basket.
5. If you have an advance pass, you must get your
assignments before you are absent. You will only be allowed to
go if you are caught up. All papers are due and tests will be
taken the day that you return.
6. If you are gone for a long period of time, please see
the instructor on your time to make special arrangements.
Tardies
1. Three unexcused tardies equals an absence.
Grading
1. All assignments will be graded.
2. Late assignments will be given 50% credit.
3. The following categories and grading scale will be used.
